Dr. Liz Ann Aguilar, alumna of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy
Studies, president-elect of the Texas Community College Teachers Association and professor
of English at San Antonio College, was chosen to receive the William H. Meardy Faculty
Award, a national honor given for excellence in teaching. Aguilar received her
master's degree from UTSA in adult and higher education. Read

This week the Center for Civic Engagement launched the annual Roadrunners Engaged Ethical
Photo
Contest<https://www.utsa.edu/community/cce/news-events/roadrunnersenga...;.
This is a contest where we encourage all of our UTSA students, faculty and staff to
showcase their community work and involvement via social media.
To enter the contest:
Upload your picture to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, include a brief caption of the type
of service being performed and use hashtag #UTSAengaged. Increase your chances of winning
by tagging our handle @UTSAengaged. Register student organizations can also submit a
photo, but it must come from the organization’s unique social media accounts.
All eligible photos must follow the following guidelines:
- Submit photo from an Instagram, Twitter or Facebook account
- Use #UTSAengaged in order for your photo to be entered in the contest
- Tag @UTSAengaged to increase your chances of winning
- Tag the location of the service event on your picture
- UTSA student organizations must submit photo from their official social media account
- Short accompanying description must be included with photo to make it eligible for
contest entry
- No children should be visibly recognizable in the photo due to privacy and
confidentiality
Awards and Prizes:
Top 3 Student Awards: 1st place- $100; 2nd place- $75; 3rd place- $50
Top Award for Faculty/Staff Member: $50
