Please see the below email from the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
We were recently notified of an additional opportunity to volunteer for the NCAA Final
Four and this one is inside the Alamodome during game time. They are hoping to fill these
slots with trusted members of the #UTSA community. These spots will not be made available
to the public. However, staff/faculty can include a friend/spouse/partner to volunteer.
Alumni and select students who have not taken other Final Four opportunities are accepted
as well.
Details:
We are looking for friendly, helpful volunteers to work the Club and Upper level at the
Alamodome when the NCAA Men's Final Four Tournament comes to San Antonio on March 31
(Saturday) and April 2 (Monday)! NOTE: This is Easter weekend, so check your calendars
before committing to volunteer.
We will be assisting the Alamodome staffing company, Staff Pro, in various customer
service areas. The main duty will include helping attendees get to their seats and
providing directions to restrooms or event spaces and answering questions they may have.
It will involve long hours of standing, some traveling up and down stairs and couple of
late nights, BUT...
This is a great opportunity to enjoy the excitement of the Final Four and share your love
of sports, San Antonio, collegiate basketball or just bragging rights that you've been
to a Final Four!
These events don't come around every year for our city, and you have a path to being
among the VIPs, who will be here to watch the games.
Parking is tight in downtown, so our volunteers will meet at Wolff Stadium and be bussed
to the dome and back. To be recognized by patrons as VIP volunteers, you will be provided
a special color sweater/polo to identify you as a Club/Upper level volunteer, and
you'll add your own black pants and shoes, plus white shirt to complete the ensemble.
Men can wear their own ties. Women will be provided with a neck decoration.
The Saturday schedule for semi-final games begins at 1 pm, reporting to Wolff Stadium for
uniforms and bus transportation to the Alamodome, and ends back at Wolff at approximately
midnight, depending upon game lengths and overtimes.
Monday's schedule involves one final evening game, so reporting time is 4 pm at Wolff,
game time is approximately 8 pm, and it will be another late finish, arriving near
midnight at Wolff Stadium.
There will be an orientation at the Alamodome on 3/24 1-3 pm to provide a tour of the
layout, station responsibilities, event schedules, and other vital information you'll
need.
