Subject: First-Gen Creative Activity & Research Symposium
Greetings,
Hosted by the First-Generation & Transfer Student Center and the McNair Scholars
Program as part of the spring 2019 First-Gen Fest, the inaugural First-Gen Creative
Activity and Research Symposium (CARS) offers a platform to celebrate UTSA's First-Gen
students' research and creative activity. Undergraduate and Graduate first-gen
students from all disciplines are encouraged to showcase their work through oral and/or
visual presentations. CARS welcomes diverse presentation formats including but not limited
to poster, performance, and art installation. Students have the opportunity to participate
at the Downtown campus on Tuesday, March 5th from 12PM - 3PM and/or the1604 campus on
Wednesday, March 6th from 10AM - 1PM. (marketing attached)
We ask for your support in sharing with your students, colleagues and networks in order to
yield first-generation student engagement. Specifically, we would appreciate your support
in sharing this with your F2GG Family and also your own network of students, faculty and
colleagues. Please note, this is not a judged competition and is meant to act as a
platform to celebrate and showcase what first-gen students are doing in the classroom.
Group or Individual submissions are encouraged from any academic discipline. If you know a
student that is a great candidate to invite, please do.
