Subject: Faculty CV Accessibility Requirements
Hello COEHD Faculty and Staff,
As part of our ongoing effort to meet the accessibility standards established by the U.S.
Department of Justice, we are continuing the process of updating our digital platforms and
documents to ensure full compliance by April 24, 2026. A key part of the compliance
process<https://www.utsa.edu/ada/compliance2026/> is ensuring our websites are
accessible.
You may review the federal accessibility standards linked
here<https://utsa.screenstepslive.com/a/1916595-ada-title-ii-web-mobil...;.
All current inaccessible CV PDFs will be removed from faculty profiles on Friday, February
27. If you would like your CV to remain on your profile, it must be remediated to meet
accessibility standards using
Equidox<https://utsa.screenstepslive.com/a/1994487-getting-started-wit...;.
Documents that do meet accessibility requirements will not be uploaded to the website.
Please note that the COEHD Communications team will not edit documents on your behalf.
We will be using Equidox, a web-based tool designed to efficiently create accessible PDFs
by streamlining technical tasks such as headings, reading order, and alt text. There is an
upcoming virtual Equidox training that is beginner-friendly and will be held on Monday,
February 16 from 2:00-3:30pm. We strongly encourage faculty and staff to attend. Register
for the course using the link
here<https://mytraining.utsa.edu/online/mod/facetoface/view.php?f=784>.
Faculty are not required to have a CV attached to their profile. An accessible alternative
is to include your professional information directly within your faculty profile. We can
incorporate the following elements:
* Name, Title
*
Contact information
*
Links to personal or research websites
*
Bio
*
Courses you teach
*
Research interests
*
Degrees
*
Links to Media and Clips
*
Honors and Awards
*
Presentations
*
Grants, Patents and Clinical Trials
* Publications
Dr. Sidury Christiansen’s faculty profile is a strong example of how to fully utilize
these features and can be viewed
here<https://education.utsa.edu/faculty/profiles/christiansen-martha-s...;.
To request updates to your profile, please submit changes through
ServiceNow<https://support.utsa.edu/myportal?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id...;.
If you are submitting content, please provide it in a Word document, not a PDF.
