Dear COEHD Faculty:
I received an announcement from the Dean of Graduate Studies regarding a professional
development opportunity for our graduate students. As part of the new professional
development focus and vision of The Graduate School, they will be providing weekly
training sessions on writing grant proposals throughout the summer months. These sessions
are to be progressive, meaning students will have specific goals to reach on their
proposal for each session. By the end of the summer sessions, students will be prepared to
submit their proposal for funding consideration.
These sessions are intended for students planning to submit grant proposals during the
coming fall 2016 semester. Students who participate in the summer sessions and submit a
grant proposal will receive a fellowship from The Graduate School. Please submit names of
students from your department and program areas to participate in this training no later
than June 17, 2016. Submit names (along with student ID and email address) to John
Shaffer, john.shaffer(a)utsa.edu. The Grant Proposal Training is a collaborative initiative
with The Graduate School and The Office of The Vice President for Research. Please
encourage any interested graduate student to apply for this training opportunity.
Sincerely,
Amaury Nora, Professor & Associate Dean for Research
