Diego Bernal visits African American Studies

Diego Bernal, Texas state representative and vice-chair of the House Committee on Public
Education, visited and spoke to students in the Race and Identity through Pop Culture
course (AAS 4013) in the African American Studies program. The students were able to ask
questions and learn about Bernal's role in the state legislature. The Race and
Identity through Pop Culture course is taught by Martina McGhee, doctoral fellow in the

Obesity is associated with a host of health problems, including heart disease, type 2
diabetes and high blood pressure. According to a new study reported in the Journal of
Physiology, obesity also diminishes a person's ability to build muscle after engaging

The annual allocation of Permanent University Fund (PUF) bond proceeds for Library,
Equipment, Repair, and Rehabilitation (LERR) projects was approved by the University of
Texas System Board of Regents during their August 9-10, 2018 meeting. UTSA will receive
$2.52 million through this allocation, second only to UT Austin in the amount of LERR
funds awarded this year.

a new budget model that brings an innovative approach to managing institutional resources.
The new budgeting process, called Incentivized Resource Management (IRM), is the result of
