Initiatives to Counteract Childhood Poverty with Holistic
Education<https://www.texastribune.org/plus/edu/vol-3/no-5/new-initiat...
by Staff Writer, TRIB+EDU The Texas Tribune | 03/10
Rather than stick to the typical strategy of relying on schools to act as the sole
countermeasure to childhood poverty, two K-12 initiatives are setting out to popularize a
more holistic approach. The first program is partnering with six cities nationwide to link
public agencies and services to schools, families and communities. The second initiative
targets low-income students and advocates for interventions like early-childhood learning,
after-school and summer programs. (Education Week)

to come.
