Dear Faculty,
Please take a few minutes to write down in the attached Word document (and return via
email to me) your thoughts about types of research support you would like the college to
provide.
I’ve already solicited this information from faculty in a couple of departments (ILT and
BBS, and EDP without the form), and will meet ELPS faculty next week to discuss. For the
other departments I’ve not yet gotten word back of when a good time to visit your faculty
meetings to discuss your ideas/needs, so I am requesting it now. We will need as much
input as we can get before next week.
Next week the Research and Development Committee will be discussing types of support
faculty need, based largely on the COEHD 2019 White paper (based on 2018 data). Your
voice, your needs may not have been included in that data collection, and a lot has
changed at UTSA since then, so I wanted to ask for input regarding current perceptions of
research needs for support.
Thank you. And please provide feedback by this Friday if you want to be part of the
conversation next week.
Michael
