The board voted 6-0 to name him the lone finalist. Trustee Elda Flores was absent. By law, the board must wait 21 days before voting to hire Flores as superintendent. Flores, who grew up in Eagle Pass, said the decision “feels like coming home.” He graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio and was previously an administrator at Natalia ISD and a teacher and principal in San Antonio ISD.
