Dietetics faculty, students participate in UT Health San Antonio caregiver
program<http://education.utsa.edu/spotlight/article/dietetics_faculty_...
[Caregiver presentation]
Students and faculty from the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) in the Department of
Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition, helped facilitate the Caring for the Caregiver program
through the UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing. Dr. Liset Leal-Vasquez (pictured),
dietetic director and assistant professor in practice, has presented a workshop once a
month since March on nutrition management for caregivers as part of the program's
three-hour skills training. Senior students and nutrition faculty recently participated in
the virtual dementia tour. The Caring for the Caregiver program aims to provide hands-on
training for caregivers working with individuals with dementia. For more information about

Network Maintenance this Saturday, July 28th – Sunday, July

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be performing maintenance to the UTSA
network from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28th to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 29th.
During this time, customers utilizing the UTSA wired and wireless networks to access
network resources may experience intermittent network interruptions within all
buildings.
We are conducting network maintenance to expand the capability of campus network services.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve network services at UTSA. OIT supports
the vision of UTSA’s Strategic Plan.

Portion of the BRG Sidewalk Closed Aug 1 -

A portion of the sidewalk located in front of the Welcome Center and north of the BRG
along Devine Avenue will be closed from August 1, 2018 until August 17, 2018, for repairs
to the garage’s exterior wall. The closure, cordoned off with construction fencing, will
not affect access to the garage and Welcome Center as walking paths will remain open for
use. For additional information, please reference the attached map or contact the
Facilities Service Center at 458-4262.
SU Oval Drop-off Closed July 30 – Aug

The oval located off University Center Drive and north of the Student Union (SU) will be
closed to vehicular drop-off traffic from July 30, 2018 until August 3, 2018, for work to
refurbish the Fiesta Dancers sculpture. The SU north exterior doors and sidewalks will
remain open and available for use during this time. For additional information, please
reference the attached map or contact the Facilities Services Center at 458-4262.

The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland, a nonprofit school for students with special needs,
has hired Kathy Dodge-Clay to head the Northeast San Antonio campus. Dodge-Clay, a veteran
educator and author of the book “Synergistics,” has spent much of her career in San
Antonio’s Northside Independent School District. She was principal of Leon Springs
Elementary School from 1998 until retirement in June 2017. She has taught graduate classes
at the University of Texas at San Antonio, while also coaching and mentoring other
educators.
