Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the UTSA College of Education and Human

author and illustrator Yuyi Morales at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 24 in the Buena Vista

In 2013, prosecutors charged more than 115,000 kids with truancy in adult criminal courts,

with just one kindergarten class. When the school year kicks off next week, the

Childhood obesity affects millions of children around the world. According to the Center
for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 18 percent of American children between the
ages of six and 11 were considered obese in 2012. In Mexico, 28 percent of boys and 29
percent of girls between the ages of five and 17 were either obese or overweight that same
year, based on statistics by the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development.

won't be Pedro Martinez' first day though, when kids return from summer vacation.
