Reach out to me with any questions or if I can support in any way. -Emily Bonner From Dr. Beebe: I wanted to highlight that the mentor training opportunity listed below is a greatly shortened opportunity for faculty. I highlighted to senior leadership that the current, existing offerings that require WEEKS of dedicated time are counter-productive, as many faculty view mentorship training as important, but cannot dedicate that much time to training. So, they listened and are now offering a much shorter mentorship training opportunity consisting of only two 2.5 hours sessions next month. Would you please consider pointing this time-condensed opportunity out to your faculty? Here are a few reasons why some folks might want to attend: * Mentorship is an important component in some grants – attending this training will help them develop better, more competitive mentorship programs and this training will be good to list on the grant PI qualifications. * Mentorship is important. We need to figure out how to do it right and not just have it be another paperwork process. It needs to be meaningful. So, faculty assigned as mentors should consider attending. * At the end of the day, everyone is a mentor – even if only informally. So, mentorship training can benefit us all.
