AAHHE proudly announces the
2019 AAHHE/ETS Outstanding Dissertations Competition!
This competition is open to anyone who has completed a dissertation that focuses on Hispanic(s) in higher education or to any Hispanic individual who has completed a dissertation in the social sciences, broadly defined, between December 2016 and August 1, 2018.
The top three winners will be invited and sponsored to attend the 14th Annual AAHHE National Conference (February 28 - March 2, 2019) in Costa Mesa, California to present their dissertation and receive their award. The first place winner will receive an award of $3,000, the second place winner will receive $2,000, and the third place winner will receive $1,000.

We are looking for two graduate students for graduate assistantships working with the TRIO Upward Bound Program. The graduate assistantship will be for 19 hours per week beginning June 1, 2018. Program Dates are June 11 - July 20.
Description of Job Duties
1. Deliver quality academic assistance to high school students during Summer Academic Program June 11-July 20
2. Accompany students on bus rides to and from high school campus to UTSA Main Campus
3. Assist Retention Specialists’ track students’ academic progress
4. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions to discuss student progress and tutoring needs
5. Perform other duties as assigned
Other Skills Preferred:
1. Good interpersonal and organizational skills
2. Must be responsible, flexible and maintain a professional attitude
Qualifications
Applicants must be current graduate students in the College of Education and Human Development. Candidates must maintain enrollment in at least three hours of graduate course credit during summer 2018. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in graduate work, or if entering the program, a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work. Successful experience in working with students in a helping relationship is desirable; experience in use of computers is required.
Salary
Candidates may be paid $11.99/ hour.
