Those documents will be stored in a secured area, and EHSRM will pick them up on the April 18 by 1 p.m. Our vehicle will be parked at the top of the Durango Building Service Ramp starting at 11:30 a.m. so you are also welcome to deliver them to us on the same day. We will depart the DT Campus by 1:00 pm.
If Monterey Building folks also have a large number of boxes with sensitive documents to shred, we will pick them up at the main front entrance to MNT prior to our departure. Please let me know in advance if we need to visit MNT.
If ITC needs a pick up at its loading dock due to a large volume of documents needing shredding, please call us in advance so we can modify our plan.
Please box your documents and seal them. We will make one trip to each location to pick them up between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 pm. Remember: If you prefer to take your sensitive documents early and not miss the pickup, you can deliver them to DT Mail Room, and they will store them inside their secured fence.
*Employees need to understand the Record Retention schedule so important docs are not shredded.

San Antonio Tricentennial Remembers the Alamo and Much More<https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2018/04/03/us/ap-us-travel-san-antonio-t...>
by THE ASSOCIATED PRESS - The New York Times | Pub: 04/05
San Antonio, Texas, is remembering the Alamo along with the rest of its history as part of a 300th birthday celebration. The city was founded in 1718 when Spanish settlers built the Mission San Antonio de Valero — today known as the Alamo — along the San Antonio River. In 1836, the Alamo was the site of a legendary battle as Texas fought for independence from Mexico.

It’s easy for first-generation students at The University of Texas at San Antonio to feel a sense of belonging. The more than 11,000 Roadrunners who are the first in their families striving to earn a bachelor’s degree are surrounded by support. That is evident this week as UTSA hosts the First-Gen Fest. The second annual festival has grown from one day to six with a series of events on the Main and Downtown Campuses.

Public school and university collaborative partnerships are key to transforming and engaging in innovative teaching and learning practices. Over the last 11 years, the Academy for Teacher Excellence (ATE), housed in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), has sponsored 46 after-school informal learning clubs in collaboration with nine San Antonio-area public schools populated largely by Latino/a and ESL students. Through these clubs, ATE supports and promotes the teaching profession, particularly STEM education.
