This is heart wrenching, I’ve spent some time with this student. She was a student in my classes. I mentored her for Project Pathways, she was so proud of her research that focused on her siblings’ language brokering. I wrote her letters of recommendation when she went out in the market. She always talked about setting an example for her younger siblings. I know she is a rock in her family so she must be going through a lot. We are keeping her and her family in our thoughts. One of our former BBL students, and recent COEHD graduate has suffered a tremendous loss. In short, her mother was murdered and has left her and 3 younger siblings on their own. Yuliza Villa Jaimes went through our Residency program. She was my student in 4 of my Methods courses and Mrs. Grace Trevino was her CT Supervisor. We have reached out to her. She is distraught.
