ILT professor speaks at conference in

Dr. Rosalind Horowitz, a professor in the Departments of Interdisciplinary Learning and
Teaching and Educational Psychology, was invited to speak at the World Congress of
Comparative Education Societies on “Characterizing Adolescents, Youth Oral Cultures, and
Literacies: A Global Perspective” on August 23, 2016 in Beijing, China. She, along with
Mingxia Zhi, a doctoral student in the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies,
presented “Reconceptualizing Academic L2 Writing: Cultural Conversational Contributions
within Written Language in International Assessments” during the conference. Horowitz was
welcomed to China, by Dr. Yingjie Wang, President of the XVI World Congress of Comparative
Education Societies and Senior Professor of Beijing Normal University; and Dr. Qi Dong,
President of Beijing Normal University.
