Frederick Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs You are invited to the launch of “Acceso Latino,” a free website created by the Carlos Slim Foundation to provide the U. S. Hispanic community easy access to content about education, healthcare, and job training. Representatives like yourself from over fifty educational organizations are being invited to the official launch that will include a demonstration of the website’s capabilities on September 29 at 10:00 A.M., at the University of Texas at San Antonio, 501 Cesar Chavez Boulevard in the Buena Vista Theatre. The Cisneros Center and American Sunrise in collaboration with The Carlos Slim Foundation, has identified a number of areas critical to long-term success and will provide free of charge Spanish modules in each of these critical areas. Online job training for in-demand employment, GED preparation classes and online courses from elementary to university level provided by Khan Academy, Harvard, Stanford and Mexico’s National University and courses to learn English, American History, Civics and Financial planning will all be presented in an easy to use format, complete with videos that walk users of any skill level through a step-by-step process. This launch will give you the opportunity to learn about this new exciting interactive website. We look forward to your participation in this informative event.
