Data Analytics Survey
by Amaury Nora
Dear COEHD Faculty:
I know, another survey request. Earlier, we were asked to complete a survey on our current usage and needs in the area of Big Data and Data Analytics. It was extremely important because a report is being prepared to provide input towards institutional resources in data analytics (e.g., STATA, Nvivo, SPSS, etc.). Our College had only two respondents. Please take the time to complete the survey by clicking on the link below so that our needs are represented in the report.

Subject: Data Analytics Survey
Dear Faculty and Associate Deans,
Per the request from Dr. Agrawal, we are conducting a survey of the current usage and needs of UTSA faculty and students in the area of Big Data and Data Analytics.
To start, Max Kilger (COB) and I have created a survey, see link below.
Please take the survey and forward it to faculty in your college with particular emphasis on those you know who are working in the field, i.e., make sure they take the survey.
In addition, please collect information that you would like to feed back to me by email (not everything can be put in a survey) and send this information at any time. On Feb 1, Max and I will collect and synthesize the data. At that time I’ll call a meeting for us to discuss the results and any other topics such that we can prepare a report for Dr. Agrawal.
That you for your support,
Harry

FW: For Your Response and Distribution: Texas Prospect Initiative Information-Gathering - Due 3/18/16
by Amaury Nora
Please see message from the UT System Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Amaury Nora, Professor & Associate Dean for Research
Executive Director for Research Integrity

(Sent on behalf of Steven W. Leslie, Ph.D., Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs)
Colleagues:
The University of Texas System is gathering information on existing initiatives, partnerships and collaborations of UT institutions with the public PK-12 sector, including with local and regional ISDs, organizations, associations, and non-profits.
This information-gathering will contribute to the Texas Prospect Initiative, one of Chancellor McRaven's Quantum Leaps<http://www.utsystem.edu/sites/utsfiles/documents/chancellor/leading-compl...> in his new strategic vision, for the role of the UT System in leading change in a complex world. The goal of the Texas Prospect Initiative is to use the size and resources of UT campuses to actively engage with leaders in pre-K-through-12 education, thereby changing the relationship between higher education and public education in meaningful and unprecedented ways.
Work on the Texas Prospect Initiative is being led by the Office of Academic Affairs. As we develop the plan for its implementation, we want to recognize the strong work already taking place at UT institutions. For this initiative to be successful, the participation of the campuses and local school districts will be instrumental.
Please respond using the web-based tool by clicking the graphic below<http://kwiksurveys.com/s/DZTlDs1e>. Distribute this link widely, to offices and units on your campus that work and collaborate internally and externally with K-12 partners.
[TX Prospect Initiative.PNG] <http://kwiksurveys.com/s/DZTlDs1e>
Information is due March 18, 2016.
Thank you, in advance, for your time and feedback. Please feel free to contact Academic Affairs project leads, Rebecca Karoff<mailto:rkaroff@utsystem.edu> and Wanda Mercer<mailto:wmercer@utsystem.edu>, with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
