UTSA Transitions to One Card

Good morning, below is the email concerning the transition to the UTSA One Card.
Effective Oct. 14, CLIBA and TAC cards were canceled. The Procard program is scheduled for cancellation on Oct. 30. The November 2020 statement is the last Procard statement to be downloaded into PeopleSoft.
One Card is now the preferred method of payment for all major travel expenses. Meal per diems are not allowed on One Cards, and will be reimbursed upon settlement of travel via an expense report.

Dear UTSA Cardholders and Financial Leads,

The Procard program is scheduled for cancellation on Oct. 30. The November 2020 statement is the last Procard statement to be downloaded into PeopleSoft.
One Card is now the preferred method of payment for all major travel expenses. Meal per diems are not allowed on One Cards, and will be reimbursed upon settlement of travel via an expense report.
One Cards were placed in departmental mailboxes based on the cardholder's current campus address in PeopleSoft. Please make sure you pick up your card as soon as possible. Follow the activation and registration process<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.uts...> using the last four digits of your Employee ID immediately after you pick up your card.
As users transition to One Cards, keep in mind that Rowdy Exchange continues to be the preferred method for purchasing goods.
Settling One Card Transactions
Departments must create non-PO vouchers with required supporting documentation by the 20th of each month and have them approved by the established deadlines.

Dear BBL Familia,
This past Saturday, October 24, 2020, we learned that Mrs. Rosita Milk passed away due to cancer. Several of you may have met her at one of our many end-of-semester potlucks; she was Dr. Robert Milk's wife. Dr. Milk was our department chair for over 20 years. Others, like myself, knew Rosita for many years as she was Leche's media naranja, and the two were an awesome couple. Rosita will be greatly missed by so many of us in BBL as she always had a kind word or smile to share and showed us her generous spirit at every BBL gathering. May you rest in peace, Rosita, and fly high con los angeles.

ORAU Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards <https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ora...>
The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards provide seed money for research by junior faculty. These awards are intended to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty and result in new funding opportunities.
Research projects must fall within one of these five disciplines:
* Engineering and Applied Science
* Life Sciences
* Mathematics/Computer Sciences
* Physical Sciences
* Policy, Management, or Education
Eligibility
* Full-time assistant professor;
* Within two years of their initial tenure track appointment at the time of application (Jan. 1, 2019 through Jan. 8, 2021)
Application Limit
An applicant/institution may select up to two (2) junior faculty members to be considered for the award.
Award Amount
The award amount provided by ORAU is $5,000. The applicant's institution is required to match the award with at least an additional $5,000. This is a one-year grant (June 1 to May 31).

13th RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM

Dear Colleagues,
I hope everyone is managing all of the challenges we face as a community and individually.
This is to let you know that our 13th Research Colloquium, The Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Inter-Connections will be held in the Spring Semester in March before Spring Break, date to be forwarded.
Proposals from Faculty and Graduate Students will be due Monday, March 8th, by ll:59 p.m.
Please encourage graduate students to submit proposals individually and in cooperative teams for Roundtables, Posters, in Dyads, and Small Group Dialogues for Zoom presentations, unless the world changes!
Proposals may be at a range of stages of development. This is a great opportunity to test out ideas, practice
talks before conferencing and other teaching modalities.
